Continuing Ed Classes

Kinetic Massage: 12 hours

A movement-based massage modality.

In this hands-on course, you will learn a stand-alone table stretch routine that can be adapted for up to a 90-minute Kinetic Massage session, or broken down and added to the table sessions you are already doing to further enhance your work. Because this modality requires no extra equipment, you will be able to implement the new routine and techniques into your practice immediately following this course.

Learn to use a combination of compression, stretching, rhythmic movement, real-time assessments, and utilize the leverage of the client's body to more fully access the muscles 3 dimensionally.

Reach a broader client base by learning highly effective techniques that can be done through the clothing. Set yourself apart by offering a modality that will restore natural movement to the body, leave your clients feeling energized, and wanting to come back for more!

Kinetic Massage Level 2: 6 hours

In Kinetic Massage Level 2 we will dive deeper into more advanced techniques that you can plug into the routine you have already learned. This class is meant to broaden your toolbox and allow you to pick and choose what will be most effective from client to client, day to day.

We will have a refresher on the Golgi Tendon Organ and Muscle spindles as well as a short discussion on the Gait Control Theory of Pain, and how we can use our knowledge of those 3 things to enhance our work.

In the technique portion, we will look at common tension patterns in the body and learn which techniques to group together to address the whole pattern rather than individual spots of tension.

To address the common tension patterns, we will be using a combination of 4 concepts that will make up the techniques for this class: Passive Movement, Active Movement, Static Holds, and Contract/Relax.
